I joined the Piano Accelerator Program at age 70. Now I can play from a lead sheet, and I even performed in a recital. Couldn't be happier with my decision to join.

Before

sound familiar?

You've tried before. It's not your fault.

Maybe you bought a keyboard, found a few YouTube videos, and got a few weeks in before life got busy. Now it sits in the corner, and every time you walk past it, you think "someday."

Or maybe you took lessons as a kid. Scales, method books, songs you never cared about. It felt like homework, so you quit, and you've wondered ever since if you're just not musical.

Here's the truth: most piano methods were built for children. They were never designed for an adult with a busy life and a list of songs they're dying to play.

You were never the problem. The method was.

still deciding?

Why not just…?

Good question. Here's why.

Adult frustrated learning piano from an online video tutorial

Why not just YouTube?

YouTube is free. That's exactly why it doesn't work. There's no order, so you bounce between teachers who each skip what the last one covered. You memorize hand shapes for one song, forget them a week later, and never learn what you were playing. And no one watches you, so your mistakes turn into habits.

Mary J.

Mary tried YouTube first:

"None of the videos had a step by step plan. The Piano Accelerator has a step by step plan and so much more."

Mary J., Piano Accelerator Student

Adult student bored during a traditional piano lesson with a children's songbook

Why not a local teacher?

Traditional lessons were built to train concert musicians, not adults who want to play for fun. You'll spend years on scales, method books and "Twinkle Twinkle" before you touch a song you love. And one lesson a week means six days of guessing on your own. That's why so many adults quit long before it ever gets fun.

Jim M.

Jim took lessons first:

"I was not getting anything except maybe Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and I was a little too old for that."

Jim M., Piano Accelerator Student

Adult frustrated at the piano while using a piano app on his phone

Why not an app or course?

An app lights up the keys and you press them. It feels like playing, but you're only copying. Close the app and you can't play the song. A course is a stack of videos. When you get stuck on a part, there's no one to ask. No one watches you play, so you never find out what you're doing wrong. That's when people stop logging in.

Jeff F.

Jeff tried other courses first:

"Piano courses/systems I had tried previously left me doing only exercises that were quite tedious."

Jeff F., Piano Accelerator Student

That's exactly why we built The Piano Accelerator.

frequently asked questions

Questions? We've got answers.

Is this right for me if I've never played before?

Yes. Most of our students started exactly where you are. You don't need to read music, know a single chord, or have "talent." You just need a clear plan and a few minutes a day. We give you the plan.

Is it too late to learn piano?

No. Some of our students started after retiring and are now playing songs they've loved for decades. Adults actually have an edge: you know what music you love, and you're here because you want to be. You just need a method built for adults, not kids.

Should I learn my chords on my own first, then join?

You could. But that's exactly how adults end up back on the slow path: random videos, shapes you memorize and forget, and no idea what comes next. Inside The Piano Accelerator, you get a plan for learning them the fast way, in the right order, so they turn into real songs right away. We'll teach you the right way from the start, so you don't have to fix bad habits later.

How soon could I play a song I love?

Weeks. You'll learn a real song in one of the very first lessons, not after months of drills. From there you build on it one skill at a time: a fuller sound, the melody, your own touches. Everyone moves at their own pace, but you won't be waiting years to hear music you recognize coming from your own hands.

Can I choose my own songs?

Yes. That's the whole point. Pop, rock, oldies, worship, movie songs, whatever you love. We show you how to find songs, help you pick ones that fit where you are right now, and teach you how to make them playable. Want us to pick for you? Just ask and we'll do it. Stuck on one? Bring it to a live call or post it in the community for feedback, and we'll work through it with you.

Do I need to read sheet music?

No. You'll be making music before you ever need to read a note. Later you'll learn to use lead sheets so you can pick up new songs on your own. Already read music? Great. You'll use what you know to play real songs.

What kind of piano or keyboard do I need?

You don't need a fancy piano. Most of our students use a digital piano or keyboard. If you're buying one, look for "weighted" or "hammer-action" keys, which means the keys feel heavy like a real piano instead of light like a toy. 88 keys is ideal, but you can absolutely start on 61 or 76 keys if that's what you have. Already have something at home? Start with it.

How much time do I need to practice?

Ideally 20 to 30 minutes a day. But what matters most is that your practice is productive, not how long you sit there. Playing a song from start to finish over and over, skipping past the parts you mess up, feels like practice, but it doesn't get you far. Productive practice means finding the tricky spots in your song and working on just those until they feel easy.

Busy week? Even 10 minutes helps, so show up as many days as you can. Here's why. When you practice, your hands start to "remember" where to go. That's called muscle memory, and your brain locks it in while you sleep. So 10 minutes a day gives your brain seven chances a week to lock in what you learned. One long session on Sunday gives it just one.

What happens when I get stuck?

You won't stay stuck. Help is always there when you need it. Bring your question to one of the two live calls each week, submit a video of your playing for feedback, or post in the community anytime. Can't make a call? Send your question ahead and watch the replay.

I'm not good with technology. Is that a problem?

Not at all. You don't need to be good with computers to do this. Our team will help you with any personal tech questions, and there's a tech help area inside the program with answers to the most common ones. You'll never be left stuck on the tech side.

Can my spouse or partner learn with me?

Yes, and you only pay once. Your spouse or partner can join you inside the program, so you can learn side by side, practice together, and play your favorite songs for each other.

What is the investment?

This isn’t a course you buy and forget. It’s a premium program where we know your name, your goals, and the songs you’re working toward, and we’re invested in getting you there. Every student is different, so we don’t do one-size-fits-all pricing. On a free call, we’ll learn where you’re starting and recommend the program and level of support that’s right for you. Payment plans are available, so cost doesn’t have to hold you back.

What if I do the work and still can't play a song?

Then you get your money back. That's our Play-a-Song Guarantee. Go through the lessons, show up to the live calls, and ask your questions. If you finish the program and still can't play a song, we'll refund you in full.

A few months from now, you could be playing the songs you love.
